APA’s Great Places in America program celebrates places with cultural and historic interest, community involvement, and a vision for tomorrow.
Did you know that there are many Plan4Health coalitions located in communities with Great Places designations? The list is long — Kingston, New York; Chatham County, Georgia; City of Dover/Kent County, Delaware; Sacramento County, California, among many others — and illustrative of the variety of communities that have pioneered planning for improved community health. Although the Plan4Health communities are not necessarily working in the specific Great Places areas, the connections underscore the importance of planning for health from many angles.
