On Wednesday, February 8th, close to 300 people participated in the first webinar in the Planners4Health Curriculum series. The session focused on the healthy communities movement, including approaches to evaluating the political, social, and economic landscape of the healthy communities movement. The panelists, from Prevention Institute, the Public Health Alliance of Southern California, and the Austin, TX Transportation Department, brought a range of perspectives and expertise. They discussed the many levers of opportunity in plans, policies, and partnerships to build health and equity into how business is done in the planning field. As a part of this conversation, participants also discussed how planning how perpetuated the production of health inequities and how to re-engineer systems to produce health equity for all.
