Planners4Health Session One: Assessing the Healthy Communities Landscape

The first webinar in the Planners4Health Curriculum series focuses on the healthy communities movement and builds the context for this work. Participants will learn about approaches to evaluating the political, social, and economic landscape of the healthy communities movement while discussing options for pushing forward a healthy communities agenda in a variety of settings. There are many levers of opportunity in plans, policies, and partnerships to build health and equity into the business is done in the planning field. As a part of this conversation, participants will also discuss how planning how perpetuated the production of health inequities and how to re-engineer systems to produce health equity for all. The Austin, Texas, Plan4Health coalition will share success, challenges, and lessons learned from their work on the ground.
